Re: Corona Movie Theater Thread: 007 Delayed to "Sometime In the Fall"
If WB would have been really hot on WW84 it would not have been pushed back even before the pandemic. Covid or not, WW84 would have dropped like a rock on its second week. Releasing it and The Witches and other crap to HBO/Max made perfect sense for many reasons.

Re: Corona Movie Theater Thread: 007 Delayed to "Sometime In the Fall"
I think Wonder Woman 1984 was delayed because it stunk/stinks/stank. I honestly suspect that *part* of the reason WB is releasing it's entire slate of 2021 movies on HBO/Max is that they also probably stink. I suspect it's much easier to bury a fiasco on streaming than it would be at the box-office.

I also prefer the theatrical cut, but appreciate the director's cut. I have read alot of Donald Westlake/Richard Stark novel's and both versions of Payback are good approximations of his work.

Re: Netflix Unveils 2021 Movie Slate with Weekly Premieres
At first, I thought the list was from the Babylon Bee or The Onion. The Aardman film for Christmas sounds charming. Maybe I can use this list to talk my wife in to dumping Netflix.

Re: rate the last movie you saw
WW84 is a special kind of bad, the kind of bad a director gets with first time "final cut." There is no way it would have been released in it's present form without "final cut." It's not surprising at all that it sat on the shelf for a while. Everything (except the two leads) is ...

Re: rate the last movie you saw
I remember hating the second Avengers movie, but I didn't hate WW84, but I certainly didn't like it. If I had a gun to my head, between those two sequels...I'd go with WW84. Hell, I'd probably watch Cats again, before either one of those two.

Re: rate the last movie you saw
I wonder if WW84 would have worked better if it were cut down do 105 minutes? In it's present form, WW84 plays like a fully scored work print.

Wonder Woman 1984 1.5/4. Reconsidered from 2/4.
What an odd movie. Other than Gal Gadot and Christ Pine almost nothing works in this incredibly bloated mess.

We watched "Soul" on Disney+ and enjoyed it. But *I* still prefer the theatrical experience and will pay to see some movies on the big screen even if they are simultaneously streaming.

Andy, what did you think of "Louis Von Beethoven?" I was thinking of watching it on Amazon.
