Re: KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES - Andy's Review

Also, William H. Macy's character was poorly defined and, ultimately, a totally missed opportunity to do something dramatically interesting. Agreed - it reminded me of Tim Robbin's character in War of the Worlds...waste of time having him there. Also - wondering what they can actually do with the f...

Re: KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES - Andy's Review

I enjoyed the movie...the voice acting was incredible and everyone deserves props for the amount of emotion and feeling they put into their dialogue. Personally I was never bored - while the story was predictable I still found the journey entertaining and, at times, moving. I did hear the nods to Go...

Re: LORD OF THE RINGS: THE HUNT FOR GOLLUM - Andy Serkis & Crew - 2026

No interest whatsoever. In retrospect, I still feel Jackson's LOTR films were really good (and I love Howard Shore's scores for them). THE HOBBIT was unnecessary (especially as three films). If anything THE HOBBIT may have been much better as two films at the most...but it certainly doesn't have the...

Andy, your review sounds more like it was a 3/10 than a 6/10. Lol...either way, I have no interest in seeing it.

Re: GODZILLA X KONG - The "Colorcast" is Back

Wildly entertaining...very pleased. The US leg of the Godzilla franchise has been enjoyable for me (except the abomination that was called Godzilla in 1998). The monster battles are fantastic...and I agree Andy that this film is definitely a kid's movie. I also agree that this has been a banner seas...

Re: "These Aren't the New STAR WARS Movie Announcements You've Been Waiting For"

I think it's funny that it took him this long (Doomcock). I watched the video...it took him this long to figure out what a dope George Lucas is? Lucas proved it when he made the special editions of Episodes 4-6 and refuses to allow the original films to be released. Why is he or anyone surprised (ev...

I haven't watched the Oscars in decades...I could care less what or who Hollywood thinks is deserving of an award. Complete waste of time for me.

Re: This Week's Column: March Madness Edition

I might have to purchase THE SHINING. While I have enjoyed Kubrick's film immensely for what it is, I agree that the TV miniseries is way more poignant and "believable". In retrospect, from what I remember, the miniseries did a much better job in adapting the novel into something to watch....

Re: DUNE 2: SOMETHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN THIS TIME - November 3rd

You don't need to read the book to understand the dynamic in their relationship isn't balanced. They love each other for a couple of minutes but are at one another the rest of it. I don't want to blame Zendaya entirely but I got awfully tired of her ticked-off expression in nearly every scene of th...

Re: DUNE 2: SOMETHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN THIS TIME - November 3rd

That's one of the worst scores I've ever heard. Period. I am completely with you on that...I do not understand why people think that qualifies as music. It is noise....loud noise (important moment in slow-motion...time to insert blaring chord and make sure the film editors turn it up full vol...

Re: DUNE 2: SOMETHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN THIS TIME - November 3rd

Thank you Michael for the astute review! I am checking it out tonight during "Bargain Tuesday" so I'm ready to give it an unbiased spin. I should warn you Andy that colors are very muted in the film (and the stuff on Geidi Prime is basically in black and white color). I think maybe you (o...

Re: DUNE 2: SOMETHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN THIS TIME - November 3rd

Long and short of it, I mostly liked Dune Part Two (there will be a Part Three which will be his take on Dune: Messiah). Spoilers ahead : First and foremost, Hans Zimmer is the s**ttiest so-called "composer" on the face of this planet. His noise sounds like an elephant farting in an echo c...
