Daniel Craig: The New James Bond

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/20050406/ennew_afp/afplifestylefilmbritainbondpeople_050406114945 Since this is running on Yahoo's front page I'm more likely to believe it than the usual online "news" sites (which yesterday had Brosnan returning!). I know nothing about Dan...

News, Notes & Other Musings (3/29)

Just got caught up on a few news items: -Kal Penn & Parker Posey are playing Lex Luthor's hench-people in SUPERMAN? Sounds good to me. Penn was really funny in "Harald & Kumar" and Posey is goofy enough to pull that off. I was thinking more along the lines of Valerie Perrine but I'...

Damn! Eric's right, NOW we're talking!! :) This is really good news. I think Lynch at this point in his career probably figures "why not?" Really, why not try and salvage the movie -- if anyone CAN make semblance out of it, it's definitely him. I'm guessing this may not happen now until 20...

AMITYVILLE HORROR Remake

Just ran through MGM's new AMITYVILLE HORROR box set and saw the free ticket for the April 15th remake. The "sneak preview" of the remake actually looked promising...though admittedly it wouldn't take much to top the original film, which was OK but kind of silly. The best element of the DV...

We'll see this sooner or later.

Maybe they'll add a Politically Correct opening statement like Kiefer Sutherland did on 24 a few weeks ago  when it comes out.

I'm with you Mike. THE CHANGELING had some incredibly creepy stuff in it. As far as everything else goes, sure AMITYVILLE HORROR was anything but a good movie, so I'd be interested in checking it out (apparently it's not half bad from "the buzz"), ditto for THE FOG. One thing that annoys m...

hey Roman, From my old DVD review: ------- For supplements, Dimension has included an engaging commentary track with Twohy and a few members of the cast, plus three deleted scenes, one of which extends the film's ending (which feels a bit abbreviated in the theatrical cut). The movie's theatrical tr...

Goldsmith Tribute in STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT Sp.Ed. DVD

Just watched Paramount's latest STAR TREK Collector's Edition 2-DVD set, and it has a really nice, 20 minute tribute to Goldsmith. No great revelations but there are some fond remembrances from Rick Berman (who talks about how he fought for Goldsmith's theme as the TNG fanfare), composer Jay Chattaw...

I honestly, for the life of me can't remember ANY of the music used in The Beginning, is it possible they're going to reuse all of that with any other snippets not used in the original release? I was thinking exactly the same thing. Certainly would be the most inexpensive solution to the problem......

Schrader's EXORCIST IV -- Trailer And Stills Online

Believe it or not -- it really IS coming out! Well maybe I won't be so quick to judge. THE FOG remake is *RUMORED* to be starring Tom Welling ("Smallville," which I'm quite fond of) and Maggie Grace ("Lost"). If that's the case, I'll be there. Hopefully they'll tighten up the loose screws of the original's narrative :) Just ...

I'll grant you the proposed remake of Hitcher (which I just discovered for the first time a few months ago) is pretty uneccesary, as the '86 original isn't dated in any particular way (unlike a lot of it's 80's genre brethren). Plus, a young Jennifer Jason Leigh! There's a great 2-disc DVD Special ...

The Fog was a remake too. Original is so horrendous it's not even worth seeing.
It's a remake?

I thought the only thing remade in THE FOG was the fact they had to reshoot whole parts of it after it didn't turn out so well the first time.

I've never heard it was adapted from another source...
