Re: The End of MGM
As far as the PINK PANTHER goes, I've read it was pushed back until Winter 2006 -- which I can understand judging by how utterly godawful the trailers looked. I'm guessing maybe the Sony folks saw it and want to re-shoot parts of it...or something. I just hope that PANTHER CARTOON set and the other ...

Thanks for the info- I'll skip that one.AndyDursin wrote:The Pendragon version is AWFUL. Like, really hideous. Acting as bad as anything you'll see, special effects that look like a 1995 PC video game...in short it's hysterically bad.
And possibly worth your $8 just to see it...and heck it's 180 minutes long too!

LOST IN LA MANCHA was incredibly entertaining and I urged all my friends to watch it. Gilliam is a bit too full of himself. I saw the trailer for his new film today and I thought it looked like territory he'd be comfortable in, but it remains to be seen if it's good or not. I personally thought that...

No offense taken- I'm basing my thoughts on the trailers I've seen. THE TERMINAL fell short- I agree with your opinion that the ending was unsatisfying. CMIYC wasn't bad; it just didn't keep my attention as much as some of his other stuff. Granted, the themes of family dysfunctionality, the lack of ...

Just saw BB- and I was more happy with the movie on the whole than I thought I'd be. I really enjoyed the first half of the film- I loved the backstory. I thought the film was much more dark and more moody (stylistic) than its predecessors, and I thoroughly enjoyed that. The complaints I have are re...

117 minutes??? I was getting used to those 2.5 hour films! In a way I'm kind of glad that I am not hearing any advance press on this film. I AM sick of hearing about Tom Crusie and Katie Holmes, though. Who in the world could possibly care about them? I'm a bit jaded because I live in Columbus and H...

KING KONG and remakes
I was talking to a friend of mine at work about how annoyed I was getting with all the remakes coming out- I think his mention of THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE spawned the discussion. He made a good point- he said that we've reached a point where the younger generation doesn't even know about these movie...

Cinderella Man and Ron Howard
Has anyone seen CINDERELLA MAN? If so, what did you think? And what do you think of Ron Howard as a director? I thought the film's fight sequences were pretty good (a colorized RAGING BULL), but it disturbed me that we saw Braddock through "rose colored glasses". I hope this isn't a spoile...

I wen to bed last night and thought about another one (in conjunction with another thread out there)- how about a special edition of the original KING KONG? I'm not sure how good or bad Jackson's KONG will be, but at least they might be able to make a more fierce looking Kong with all the CGI stuff....
