THE POST - Spielberg, Hanks, Steep - Dec/January

#1 Post by AndyDursin »

Maybe it's just me, but I get the feeling after watching this trailer that its overall prospects might've been brighter years ago. How many people today care about the Pentagon Papers -- or view the media as crusading superheroes as this film seemingly does?

Just looks like a project from another era with lots of grandstanding performances. We'll see if it resonates much today.

Another occasion for Hollywood to regurgitate outdated interpretations of history..

That too. Seems a bit out of step from a quick glance.

Sadly also does not look like it's going to provide much of a forum for John Williams's talents either.

I haven't missed a Spielberg movie in theaters since Amistad, so obviously I'm going. It'll be nice to have at least one major studio movie for adults this season.
