Shame, as I had a lot of fun with The Fall Guy. Another blow for original(ish) star-driven popcorn movies.

Re: Weekend Box Office 5/5 - FALL GUY Falls From Expectations
To someone who knows nothing of THE FALL GUY, the movie's concept was poorly defined in the trailers they put out. Films "about Hollywood" seldom do that great, and THE FALL GUY as a "brand" is not anything that means anything to anyone really..we're talking a 40 year old TV series that was popular but not HUGELY popular (I've never even seen an episode to this day lol), but never had the following of THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN. They stopped after putting out 2 seasons on DVD for lack of interest etc.
Trailers were just endless explosions and one-liners, as interchangeable from one dumb movie to the next. And, clearly, Ryan Gosling is not enough of a star to get people to show up because of his name. Those days are long over -- this is evidence BARBIE worked because it was Barbie, not because of him or Margot Robbie (who likewise can't open a movie simply because she's in it either).

When people my age think of "The Fall Guy" we tend to remember Markie Post and Heather Thomas more than Lee Majors.

Me and my wife want to see this, because it looks fun, but the title sucks...I don't think people associate "Fall Guy" with "Stunt Man".
And these days, isn't everything CGI?
Also, I downloaded the score...interpolates a song from Kiss (I was made for loving you) ina few tracks that is cool, but overall a loud mess. And they changed the lyrics to the theme song, and it sucks now.
