WHERE EAGLES DARE/KELLY'S HEROES Blu-Ray DF - June

#1 Post by AndyDursin »

Excellent Double Feature disc -- these two flicks for under $20 sounds great!

Also coming are a bunch of other Eastwood catalog titles including THE ROOKIE, HEARTBREAK RIDGE and ABSOLUTE POWER, and another Blu-Ray double-feature coupling previously-available SUDDEN IMPACT/THE ENFORCER.

BOTH in one set for under $20? Not $20 each?

I noticed a bunch of these Warner double-feature Blu-Rays at BJ's today selling for $17.99 a pop.

Yep! Should be $19.99 retail and possibly in the $14.99-$17.99 range thru Amazon when it comes out.

Warner just released a whole bunch like this (including FUNNY FARM/SPIES LIKE US, etc. as I wrote up in my column).

Well, its about time! Maybe this format WILL catch on after all. (I admit I've had visions of my Blu-ray player joining the minidisc deck, the BetaMax and the HD-DVD player in the basement corner).

Like I wrote in my column this week, IMO this is the best BD deal to come down the pike in the format so far. Warner needs to do more of them, and looks like they will. :)

Just got my review copy in -- and they look great!

Unlike other Warner DF discs, both are on their own, separate platter. Even a couple of extras on there (Where Eagles Dare On Location vintage featurette, plus trailers for both movies) too. Transfers and DTS-MA soundtracks are as good as can be expected!

HIGHLY recommended. A steal under $20 IMO.
