Lots of double dips. This is what they should have put out in the first place.

That first release was one of those "never should've happened" packages. You KNEW it was coming!!

Ugh.

My review copy just came in -- and it's a MASSIVE disappointment. This transfer (AVC encoded) is WORSE, in every facet, than the MPEG-2 transfer of the original Blu-Ray.

Why? DNR. LOADS of it. So much that there's hardly any grain in the film at all -- and as a result, a loss of detail that makes the leap to HD worthwhile. At times I thought I was watching an SD master so much has been glossed over in this transfer.

Too bad, because it has all the extras on there everyone wanted -- but if all you care about is watching the film itself, buy the original Blu. It's not perfect either but it's cheaper and looks more like a MOVIE than this overly processed transfer. :(

Also doubly disappointing because Fox has been doing such a good job of late too. Not this time.
