It may be just me, my friends and family, but no one seems interested in going to the movies much anymore... it's as if we all feel this sense of deja vu and blandness from each new release, no excitement whatsoever from those who make the movies and the audiences who are supposed to pay to see 'em...

It's not just you. I feel exactly the same!

Remember Memorial Day weekends past -- and look what we have in 2010...

SEX AND CITY 2 - Sequel. Badly reviewed.

IRON MAN 2 - Sequel. Big disappointment.

ROBIN HOOD - Remake/whatever you'd like to call it. Big disappointment.

SHREK 4 - Sequel. Nobody likes it.

PRINCE OF PERSIA - Videogame movie. Mostly bad reviews.

There's just nothing to see there. At all. :(

As a follow-up...

About 23 million Americans saw a movie over the weekend, the lowest turnout since Casper led an anemic 1995 holiday.

Analysts wonder whether the studios' dependence on sequels, along with premium ticket prices for 3-D and IMAX, are dissuading fans who are keeping a closer eye on their wallets.

Keep pumping out tons of garbage and charging an outrageous price for it, and even more so for 3D, and it's not rocket science what the results are going to be.
