Universal Circling Around TERMINATOR -- with Arnold?

Interesting...apparently the new FAST & THE FURIOUS has turned out well, and that writer-director duo of Justin Lin and Chris Morgan have done the last three films in that series. So they're on the rise, but not only that, Arnold's availability has piqued Universal's interest. Obviously there are legal hurdles to clear, but it's intriguing to discuss...

Also interesting is this blurb from the article itself --

Right around the time the bankruptcy was settled, Deadline also reported that William Wisher--James Cameron's collaborator on Terminator 2 and an uncredited co-writer on the original, wrote a 24-page treatment for the next film and a four-page concept outline for a sixth Terminator film. His version continued the post-apocalyptic battleground scenario from Terminator Salvation, but added in the element of time travel. It will be most interesting to see what shape this franchise takes.

I'm sorry but Arnold is just too friggin' old for this unless they have him play the human that the 800s were based off of or some such.

The CGI Arnold turned out well in SALVATION though -- and they didn't even need him there! lol.

They did. The Sergeant Candy deleted scene in Terminator:Rise of the Machines.

All I want is one -- just ONE -- summer popcorn movie with an original idea (and a good score...but I know that's asking too much.)

I'd never seen that.

It was presented as an extra on the second disc I think. It's been quite a while since I last watched it. I thought it was much more enjoyable than I was expecting, and alot better than Terminator: Salvation.

I like RISE OF THE MACHINES a great deal. I also enjoyed SALVATION but 3 was better, effectively handled and directed.

2 is the film in that series that's overrated IMO.

It was tough enough eight years ago to accept the then 55-year-old Arnold as a supposedly ageless cyborg, and he's gotten a lot wrinklier and jowlier since then, so I can't see how they're gonna explain that away if he returns for a fifth movie.
