All of them were from Strikes Again. In fact, one of them with Clouseau tumbling off the plane steps still ended up in the Strikes Again trailer!

Take this explanation from IMDB for what its worth. May not be true but apparently there was originally a finished 124 minute cut of Strikes Again with all of those scenes.

"Blake Edwards' original cut ran 124 minutes, and was submitted to the British Board of Film Censors in 1976. Afterward, the film was cut to 103 minutes. That version was shown in cinemas, on VHS and on DVD. Most of the cut scenes involved Sellers' journey to, and arrival in, England. The 124-minute original cut has never surfaced, but a large chunk of the deleted footage was used in Trail of the Pink Panther (1982)."

Thanks, I recall reading something like that years back when I did the notes for the Ryko STRIKES AGAIN album (two plus decades ago!!). On the surface of it, I can understand cutting down STRIKES AGAIN, because as much as I find it hilarious, it's the most bonkers and off-the-wall cartoonish of the entire series. Two-plus hours of its mayhem may have been too much.

I will say that the scene of Clouseau getting his hunchback costume from Harvey Korman in the costume shop (which was recycled for the opening scene of Trail) fell flat and deserved to be cut. The rest of the material they cut though should have stayed in IMO since it would have paced that part of the film where Clouseau arrives in England better.

Yeah, I'm sure you're right. I need to see TRAIL again and those scenes, it's been a long time.

For those of us who wanted a Complete set, good news at least as Kino has announced CURSE is on the way.

Kino confirmed SON today also, so only INSPECTOR CLOUSEAU is left out in the wild (for now).

There are a decent array of them -- a couple of good commentaries and several new interviews. I'll have the review up either today or tomorrow of these and the Kino discs, so an entire Panther retrospective so to speak!

It's up! Big review on this box-set and Kino Lorber's Blu-Rays...wish all of them were together in one set, but that's just me!
