So sad. Suddenly died from surgery complications...Married for 30 years too. Condolences to his family.

Classic stuff. Hysterical. Arguably still one of funniest roles he did.

Why don't they make movies like these any more?


I'm bummed about Paxton. I really am. I liked him in everything he was ever in. True Lies (he was awesome in this. Everything just worked in this movie), Aliens, Weird Science, even Predator 2... he could do serious roles, too. I think he was underrated quite frankly.

Paxton was adept at being a character actor as well as a lead (Twister) and could fill a lot of different parts. Always sad when it's so sudden

Very sad about this. My favorite role of his was Chet in WEIRD SCIENCE, which is still hilarious to this day. As Andy said, he was a great character actor and he had several memorable roles. I think he directed A SIMPLE PLAN, which was a pretty good movie. Very talented guy who will be sorely missed.

The complications from surgery part is what I find disturbing. There's no mention of what the surgery was for?

He was one of the last names I got to be familiar with from seeing a number of movies (True Lies, Apollo 13, Twister, Titanic) and he did bring something to each of them.

Dammit, where the hell is A Simple Plan on Blu-Ray?! Not only some of Paxton's finest dramatic acting, but also Sam Raimi's best film, flat-out.

Sam Raimi directed A Simple Plan, but Paxton did direct 2002's Frailty, which was an exceptional thriller (and boasted one of his best acting roles, as well).

Thank u for clearing that up. A SIMPLE PLAN was a solid movie. I could have probably looked that up before posting, but I chose to be lazy!
