These stats are disquieting.

And three of the movies on that list have sequels either already released, filming, or in development.

Very sad -- and a great stat too. It's depressing when you see box office analysts go on about US' opening this weekend and how good it is for an "original movie". Them's originals, we don't get much of 'em anymore!
