At this point, the only positive thing that might come out of Indy 5 is a hoped-for boxed set of the Williams scores done right this time (all unreleased music in chronological film sequence, instead of being thrown onto a "bonus disc", the full-length "Desert Chase" cue, ect.).

Guess it's all on the table including dumping it to Disney+
We’ve been told that Bridge put the hat on in every ending,” he added.

Overlord DVD then clarified, “All my spies actually said was Phoebe Waller-Bridge puts on Indy’s hat, takes Indy’s whip, and in a brave and stunning display of girl power she becomes the besest Indy evar at the end of all six version of the movie.”

The YouTuber also asserts that Disney is in panic over the poor test screenings saying, “Disney is absolutely freaking out about this. They know this movie is going to bomb big time, which is why they’ve delayed it as long as they have despite it being finished.”

He added, “And according to rumors from my Hollywood spies there is talk that Chapek may decide not to release it and take a tax write off for it or to dump it onto Disney+ and hope that enough train wreck rubberneckers will sign up for the D+ service just to take a look out of morbid curiosity.”

The era of The Woke is beginning to recede, so studios with aggressively "progressive" movies in the can - especially ones that radically alter franchises that have been around for decades just to insert women, POC or gay characters in place of straight white males - would be wise to just take the loss and junk the movies entirely. Batgirl was just the tip of the iceberg. :) There's only so long cries of "-ism...!" will hold water in the face of dwindling ticket sales. There's a reason why Top Gun: Maverick went through the roof at the box office, and it wasn't because they killed off Tom Cruise at the end to replace him with a mixed-race lesbian in a wheelchair.

Hollywood has been kowtowing to Twitter Outrage Culture for far too long...if it takes a pair of expensive franchise sequels getting chucked into the bin sight-unseen to make them realize it's time for a change, it's a sacrifice that will be worth it (especially as both Batgirl and Indy 5 sounded like hot garbage).

The director said on twitter there have been no screenings, and that the story of Indy being replaced by Bridge isn't true. So maaaaaaaybe things will be okay?

I met Jerry Goldsmith a couple of months before Total Recall was released, and mentioned I'd heard he started recording in Germany but moved the sessions to London.

"No, no, that's not true", he said dismissively. "There weren't any sessions in Germany."

I learned from that incident not to believe what people working in Hollywood have to say.

I got in an argument with someone on BR.com recently about how Barry Jenkins "lobbied" for the chance to direct the Lion King prequel, and that it "meant something" to him to make it.

Yeah, pull the other one. :? Five years after it comes out, using his Disney money to fund his next three indie dramas, he'll sh!t-talk the Mouse like nobody's business. It's the same with Indy 5. When probably $300 million is on the line (including lengthy reshoots, CGI face replacement after Ford injured himself on the set, marketing, etc.), you think anyone involved in this film is gonna say what they really feel about the finished product before it comes out? Look at how Shia LaBeouf trash-talked Crystal Skull years after it came out (and he had spent his money).

Regardless of how the movie ends, this film has been on the shelf now for so long there's little doubt in my mind there's something VERY wrong with it. They could've released it a year ago. Now, I get it, COVID still and even Top Gun was held on the shelf -- so I'll give them a pass there. But they could've released it THIS year -- and instead pushed it into 2023...why? Because there's so much competition in theaters!??! LOL.

The fact Mangold is even on Twitter addressing this clearly means they are worried. And here's another thing: he's saying the movie has had NO screenings? LOL. Seriously? After all these years, they've never previewed it to an audience?

The entire concept of the film stinks to high heaven. That's the real problem here -- that it's a turd Disney is sitting on. At the least this extended post-production stay seems indicative of a highly troubled film, one which -- again -- let's not forget Spielberg walked away from. And this is a guy who made CRYSTAL SKULL probably knowing it was lame the entire time.

As for speculation -- Doomcock hasn't been wrong about any major news story that I've been aware of. These are "rumors" to be sure but they often have a heavy dose of truth associated with them. And neither Kathleen Kennedy nor Disney deserve the benefit of the doubt either!

Even women want no part of Indiana Jones being replaced with a female version.

It's not like anyone's gonna reboot Tomb Raider with LARRY Croft.

We all know this movie is crap plus the time travel element means heavy CGI and a premise that betrays the "practical aesthetic" (or whatever yoi want to call it) of the original trilogy. Everything about this movie screams POS since it's no longer a Lucas/Spielberg joint but a Disney corporate product.

And like Doomcock says in this video, Spielberg said no. Nobody seems to care about the fact that Spielberg walked away from this movie because something about it made him balk at making it. I wonder what it possibly could have been lol.
