Can't blame George this time. We CAN blame this fool, however!

Yeah...no matter what they say, this can't possibly be a good sign

Is it just Disney making a few release date alterations as they claim, or is this movie going to make some major changes? It certainly gives them time.

The film itself is facing a lot of fan concern as of late.

There have been a lot of rumors about the plot of the film and many sites have reported that the plot would feature time travel.

But there were concerning rumors (again RUMORS) coming from YouTuber Doomcock that indicated the film could also undo Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones and making room for Phoebe Waller-Bridge to be the new star of the franchise. Her character is rumored to even take the name “Indiana Jones” like Rey Skywalker.
Even though they were simply rumors, fans did NOT react well.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge has just killed off James Bond in the last film “No Time To Die.” Fans have not reacted well. If they went and made her the new Doctor Jones, while undoing the original, well Disney might as well just burn money.

The longer delay is likely due to the theatrical rescheduling Disney just did on many of their tent pole films, but I do wonder if they are going to try to make changes if the leaks are true. The fan reaction has not been great and if true Disney might want to rethink it or they could end up with another ‘Star Wars’ plummet on their hands.

So the original script really did have Phoebe Waller Bridge going back in time, watching 2 versions of Indiana Jones DIE then take his place and name? Lol. No wonder Spielberg walked away! :D

Latest updates from the rumor mill...no matter how it ends I can't imagine this movie isn't going to royally suck.

Give Crystal Skull SOME credit for the bit where Shia picks up Indy's hat, but has Indy take it away from him before he could put it on. Disney just can't help themselves, can they?

Nope neither can Kathleen Kennedy.

I also have to give a thumbs down to Harrison Ford. I get he wants to earn a zillion for his family but to come back and make 2 check cashing ventures just to kill off two of the more legendary screen heroes in cinema history...that's just lousy man. Lucas is gone, Spielberg is gone, it's just you and Williams in it "just for the money".

The "wanting to leave money behind for his family" thing (both with Ford and Bruce Willis) is asinine to me, as both actors have been earning millions per movie for DECADES. How much money do their kids and grandkids need to survive? I know, in Willis' case, he sadly wasn't "all there" for at least the last decade, but what's Ford's excuse? Is this how we REALLY want to see our childhood hero for the last time, not riding triumphantly into the sunset in Last Crusade (when Ford was still in his physical prime) but as a grey, frail old man playing second-fiddle to a woman half his age in a dumb feminist power struggle? If you thought Last Jedi raised hackles amongst the "sexist" aging male fanbase, can you IMAGINE the sh!tstorm that's gonna rain down if the leaks about the new Indy film's plot turn out to be even 75% true? And no matter how much Disney tries to pre-emptively brand straight white males our age as cretinous cavemen when we air our grievances, we'll be the ones laughing last when Indy 5 craters at the box office after a single weekend. Hell, the horrible box office for Lightyear (a movie whose advertising campaign basically revolved around a "groundbreaking" lesbian kiss rather than selling the movie with the adventure and humor that it, frankly, lacked) already indicates people are getting sick of their shenanigans. Get Kennedy OUT of there, for God's sake! :x

Spot on Jack.

Last Crusade was the last Indy film. I'm tired of these way-after-the-fact sequels and have no interest. It might be worse than prequelitis and that's saying something. It's depressing and pointless. It doesn't help that most of them are just flat out bad regardless of anything else. How about some new ideas?

It's ironic that studio executives were willing to take a chance on those young mavericks in the 70s and 80s -- and now they are terrified of bankrolling anything that isn't a franchise created by those same young mavericks.

Just remember -- Steven Spielberg said YES to KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL.

He said NO to this movie.

Let that sink in.

It's also terrible for younger moviegoers...instead of growing up on fresh, new franchises of their very own, they're being force-fed moldy leftovers from the franchises of OUR generation (and that of the early 2000s...witness the endless attempts to resurrect Harry Potter, Lord Of The Rings, Spider-Man, ect.). Yes, the original Star Wars was assembled from bits and pieces of things Lucas grew up on (WWII movies, samurai epics, Flash Gordon, The Wizard Of Oz), but, like Tarantino did with Kill Kill, it took those elements and re-constituted them in a bright, shiny new package with original characters and scenarios, all presented with state-of-the-art F/X from an era when they still had a novelty factor.

What does a 12-year-old boy have to enjoy today? The MCU, which is already 14 years(!) deep? Aggressively "progressive" SW D+ content? Disney princess sh!t where they're tougher than any man? A withered, ancient Harrison Ford limping through another Indiana Jones adventure that will end with him being erased from history so that a young woman can assume his place and strike back against the patriarchy? It's hard to think of the last 100% "original" movie that spawned a franchise, aside from John Wick, and that's strip-mining the idea to insane degrees (it would have made for a perfect trilogy. but there are TWO more theatrical sequels planned, plus a TV spin-off). By continuing to extend old franchises while failing to nurture new ones, studios like Disney and WB are like loggers who raze a large swath of rainforest without planting new saplings in order to replenish this finite nature resource. It's incredibly short-sighted and the rickety house of cards is gonna come crashing down sooner than later, and will leave studios bereft of blockbuster support from audiences who are sick of seeing energy beams shooting from bored actors' hands and from being lectured about how evil they are for ever having a boner in their life. :?

This is only getting worse and worse. If you're going to watch 1 video on this mess, might as well be this one.

I wrote this before, but this is one of the few times I want this thing spoiled ahead of time because I'm not sitting through another funeral. James Bond, Luke Skywalker...not doing it a third time.

Beyond that, the script is apparently a total dumpster fire and is going to be "assembled" by editors who will pick and choose what storylines the film will gravitate towards. But even if they "fix" the ending -- the film is going to be horrendous.

"I will not fall down for you again" says Ford at today's Disney expo or whatever it is.

Good to know he's confirming Indy's demise!
