Re: SUPERMAN I-IV 5-Film Collection 4K UHD - April 17th

Thank you so much for sharing this information, Andy. Looks like Amazon is taking pre-orders now. Sadly a bit out of my price range for this month, but hopefully it won't sell out before next month!

Re: R.I.P. to Val Kilmer

Very sad to hear of Val Kilmer's passing. I was always amazed by how chameleon-like he was as an actor; how he seemed to disappear into his best roles. Of course, my favorite performance by him will always be Doc Holiday in TOMBSTONE. I was also amazed by how much he physically transformed into ...

Very cool, Andy! Thank you for sharing! I also thoroughly enjoy 1941. I'm happy to hear your son really enjoyed the movie, too.

Re: Happy 50th to Chinatown!

I hope this new birthday year turns out to be a wonderful one for you, MJ. And many happy returns.

It’s probably no consolation, but at 51 years old I don’t have a girlfriend, either.

Chinatown is definitely an amazing film to share a birthday with - bravo!

Re: 40 Years Ago Today...

I really enjoy reading all of your recollections of seeing these films in the theater. Sadly, I didn't see either Gremlins or Ghostbusters in the theater in 1984, but saw them on home video much later (in jr. high or high school, I think) and absolutely fell in love with them. I thoroughly enjoy ...

Re: Netflix CEO: movies aren't necessarily better on the big screen

A few years ago I saw Lawrence of Arabia in a local theater here in Oklahoma. I believe it was part of a TCM classic films series. They projected the film on a "regular" movie screen, so I didn't get the full 70mm experience, but just seeing the film on a regular movie screen was a revelation. The ...

Re: Did you all skip the Oscars telecast too?

I haven't watched the Oscars (or even cared about them) in so long that I completely forgot about them this year! I saw a news article a couple days ago about Oppenheimer winning the Award for Best Picture, and I thought, "Has the Oscars ceremony already come and gone?"

Oppenheimer is the only ...

Re: STAR TREK Complete Original Series STEELBOOK Blu-Ray - $44

Thank you for the head's up, Andy - I picked this up!

My brother bought a set of original series blu-rays used but they are the ones with new CGI effects. I watched a few episodes but much prefer the old special effects (low-budget though they were). I also don't care for the new sound mix on my ...

Re: STAR TREK For Sale to Warner Bros.?!?!

Thank you, Andy! Thanks to your explanation I can wrap my head around this. It would be interesting to see what WB would do with Star Trek, especially if, as you said, it's developed by people who actually understand the franchise. I have been yearning for a return to the magic that made classic ...

Re: STAR TREK For Sale to Warner Bros.?!?!

Andy, why do you think Paramount would be willing to give up such a valuable IP? Are the current "Star Trek" TV shows performing badly? (I admit that I don't care for the current shows, but I didn't know how successful or unsuccessful they have been.)

Thank you for letting us know about the upcoming Supergirl release, Andy. I'm also looking forward to your thoughts when you get the blu-ray.

Eric, thank you for sharing some of the production history. I didn't know what an important part Superman was originally supposed to play. I also had no idea ...
