one of my all time favorite films!
I love Brad Fiedels love Theme... the score is very simple and 80ies, but at least avoids cheap synths trying to emulate an orchestra. Surely no great compositions, but somehow eerily effective.
The cast is outstanding and as much the new cast impresses, Im very ...

well i havent seen it, so I cant judge yet. The director however has been far from making cheap-species-ripoff **** so far, so Id be surprised if he landed a silly b-movie-bomb... im surprised a bit about the height of the budget, but apparently the fx are very very good.

i guess with SPLICE the studio made a bad decision trying to sell a smart small arthouse SF film as something like SPECIES and put it in the summer slot...
im sure it wasnt very expensive and the director and co didnt really think it would be a big summer hit...
it probably would have done better ...

it is oddly out here in Sweden already and it was really a major disappointment. The story was forced and still almost nonexistent. All scenes seemed improvised on the spot, endless bickering that didnt go anywhere.

whats wrong with a 90min film? In the 80ies a film with running 2 hours was already regarded extended lenght... I enjoy a lean 90min film a lot more, very difficult to get bored during that duration than in a bloated 3 hours film like POTC 3 or TRANSFORMERS 2 (latter had not even enough plot and ...
