Which ROBOCOP to get?

Hi folks!
I've got a question for you ROBOCOP fans out there.
I haven't bought this classic in DVD yet and I'm looking to, but ideally what I'd like is the unrated version in anamorphic widescreen. From what I understand the Criterion release is unrated but not anamorphic.
Is there such a version available?
Thanks in advance,
M

MGM's DVD is unrated *and* 16:9 enhanced, and actually is superior to the Criterion disc for that reason (it also has a good amount of extras as well). The one sold here at least:
I believe MGM released it separately as well, though I only received the box set for review at the time.

Thanks for the info, Andy.
It looks like the version released in the "Trilogy" box set is unrated and anamorphic, but also "extended." Wonder what that's about. I don't believe the "new" version has been made available separate from the box set.
There is a separate MGM version, but I don't think it's the unrated version.
Wow, so much to pick from.
I think I might go with the box set, just because I'm interested in getting ROBOCOP 2 as well.
Thanks again!

You're welcome, but ROBO DEUX? My god man, why?!?!

LOL. I still maintain ROBOCOP 2 is one of the worst sequels of all-time...but you have to own it in your library "just because".

Well, my friend, the short answer is that we are two roads diverged in a wood on this point. While there's no way I could or would want to argue that ROBO2 is as good as the original, for me it's always been fun, brainless entertainment. I can't make any kind of academic case for it, I just like it. Same deal with that other 1990 sequel of a 1987 action classic.

At this rate, wait for the Blu-Ray version.
