Probably the big surprise is the opening of FAST AND THE FURIOUS 3 -- with no stars whatsoever and not a lot of advertising (and I'm likewise guessing not a huge budget) that's a respectable debut.
Good "hold" for CARS as well -- have to figure it might be close to #1 by the time the weekend is over.
THE OMEN looks dead and buried -- it might break $50 mil domestic but that's not overly spectacular...ranking below other remakes like AMITYVILLE HORROR and TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE.
