Is there ANY reason they're remaking that pile of crap? lol.

He may not star -- maybe he'll have the Fred Gwynne role??

Weird that they want to remake this one- especially on the eve of the 2-disc special edition of the original coming out on DVD....
Seriously- is anyone else "burnt out" on Stephen King stuff? I'm tired of seeing his name over everything.

Sure doesn't mean what it used to, does it? (Not that it meant a whole lot either, but it used to be fun to expect the "next Stephen King movie" and usually laugh at it most of the time...aaah high school!!).

right....I can't remember the last SK movie I got excited about. I think he overdid it with the TV series and remaking THE SHINING- John Carpenter put his name before some of his films, so King followed suit.
What was the last SK film you got really excited about??? I admit I was stoked about DREAMCATCHER before I saw it- I didn't like it very much. Do you think he'll do a TV mini-series on THE DARK TOWER (kind of like he did with NIGHTMARES AND DREAMSCAPES)???

The Green Mile (SE DVD on November 15th!

).
Secret Window turned out surprisingly good (although Mr. Depp added a lot to that film).

I loved the book/serials but was very disappointed with the film. Too soft, too romanticized -- and too much like SHAWSHANK (which I loved, but GREEN MILE the book had more of an edge to it, which I thought the movie lacked...plus it was WAY too long).
Good SKIng adaptations

Here is my own list of good movies from SK books:
THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION
THE GREEN MILE
THE DEAD ZONE
THE SHINING (Kubrick version)
THE STAND
MISERY
DOLORES CLAIBORNE
BATTLEFIELD (short story from NIGHT SHIFT; I could have done without the commercial breaks)
I just hope that someone makes THE MIST-that has to be one of the best homages to 50's horror/sci-fi I've ever read, and Joe Dante in his prime could have done it beautifully.
