Flint is sold out already!

I may or may not do a second order. Not sure.

The first two are the ones I'm most worried about: that I will postpone watching to the point where I will never watch them. Sort of in the same league as those CDs we buy but never get around to listening to.
Good choices Sprocket!

THE SOUND AND THE FURY is a really good Fox melodrama -- Faulkner story, Cinemascope shot, Yul Brynner and Joanne Woodward sparring...ultimately romantic and probably my favorite Alex North score too. I wouldn't postpone a viewing, that's a steal at $5.

To be honest as much as I admire Ray Harryhausen's work I find a few of those 50s/60s fantasies of his to be tedious sits. The first hour of FIRST MEN IN THE MOON is a rough ride in that regard; kind of a fuddy-duddy "Flying Machines" comedy before they take off for the moon. I can see picking it up for completion's sake but that's not a film I'm keen to revisit, personally.

EDIT - It's sold out, so a wise pick up indeed. Collectible value should go up exponentially :)

FLINT's sellout is no surprise -- the original was already sold out so I figured they were teetering on the edge of moving this one also, as most who bought the first one would also buy the sequel. Glad I picked up a spare copy ;)

I'm sure it will be better than the DVD, at the very least. And hey, at least I'm getting it cheap.

Any ideas on how fast Lilies of the Field's quantities are dwindling?

That's the only title I'm interested in...but I might need to wait a week for spending any more on Blu-rays!

Well, yes, and no ... http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=20238

A buddy of mine is really enamoured with Harryhausen's work, and since he's the one usually watching movies with me, I like to keep him happy.

I did recently see Jason of the Argonauts and The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad, and they were both very enjoyable.

All these sales ... I keep having to remind myself that these little shiny disks are just entertainment and that I am not a glutton. 8)

I've always liked "First Men In The Moon." Yes it takes half of the film to get there but I think the pacing is done reasonably well, (Lionel Jeffries shouting "GIBBS!" can still crack me up). To me the biggest flaw is copping the ending of War Of The Worlds in reverse and making the ending too abrupt.

Yes good point Eric. Ending didn't really work for me either. Not a bad movie at all but I definitely found it "flabby" compared to Jason and 7th Voyage of Sinbad.

After much thought, I've picked up 3 more of the cheapies, triggered by SWAMP WATER, which I'm sure will never be on blu again.

BONJOUR TRISTESSE
OLIVER!
SWAMP WATER

I am interested in some of the 50% off titles, including STRANGE INVADERS, HEAVEN KNOWS, MR. ALLISON, and BORN FREE but I have to wait on those.
