Hilarious that Avatar: Fire & Ash has made more in a week than every single MCU movie released this year.
This is what happens when a franchise isn't strip-mined with endless movies and TV spin-offs for seventeen years straight.

Thats because its making huge money overseas. Domestically its no record breaker and will probably end up way under the last one.

Not at all surprising. I can't imagine how many incentives he's getting for a role in a franchise he finished and probably has zero artistic interest in participating. All the motivation is the $$$$$$$ for him.

Doomcock's videos are not only spot on but have become a pleasure to watch as he doesn't overdo the content, and nails it when he gets the chance.

Thats a bargain for them. It's the same as Endgame, making you wonder if anyone deferred their salary in lieu of percentage points given how many they had to pay to return.

...the difference being that Endgame came out when CBMs were at the absolute height of their cultural ascendancy, whereas the last six years have really cut the legs out from under the genre with a glut of mediocre big-screen and streaming fodder that have left even the most avid fans exhausted.AndyDursin wrote: Tue Apr 14, 2026 12:13 pm Thats a bargain for them. They're totally retconning everything post-2019, aren't they.

Pretty to easy to recon when nobody watched half of it
Though I do agree with one of the Doomcock friends -- bringing back Evans and Hemsworth is great and all, but if this is LAST JEDI/FORCE AWAKENS territory and you're paying huge salaries out JUST TO KILL THEM OFF and piss off the audience (which is the reporting) then it's not actually going to have a positive impact at the box-office.
I mean, ENDGAME worked because most all of them WEREN'T dead lol.
It also goes to show how ill-conceived this was. Making Dr. Doom this huge villain in an AVENGERS movie right out of the gate is a bizarre concept. He should've been introduced in FANTASTIC FOUR where he obviously belongs for the most part, but that he's some big master-manipulator right off smacks of them trying to fill the void of the dude who they fired for beating up his girlfriend.
