Get this: Tarantino Mad With 007 Producers!

#1 Post by AndyDursin »

Next thing you know he'll be telling us that he invented the wheel, too....lol.

Tarantino Upset with Bond Producers
Quentin Tarantino has slammed James Bond producers for failing to contact him following his request to direct forthcoming 007 movie Casino Royale, because the remake had been his idea. In 2004, the Pulp Fiction film-maker suggested producers remake Ian Fleming's original 1953 storyline, after screenwriters Robert Wade and Neal Purvis, who penned The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day, publicly announced they were struggling to write a third script. Tarantino had hoped to direct Casino Royale and had advised the Bond team to "go my way and do it a little differently", while maintaining he could still be trusted with the legendary superspy series. But he was upset not to be contacted when Goldeneye director Martin Campbell was instead chosen to direct the new 007 thriller starring Daniel Craig. Tarantino says, "I'm annoyed that the James Bond producers never called me to talk about it because I can tell you that they would not be making Casino Royale if I hadn't talked about it first. "They should have called me. Especially since they are taking my idea and they are taking the publicity I gave them towards that idea. "They should have at least had the courtesy to have coffee with me."

It was HIS idea to do CASINO ROYALE, eh? The fact that MGM had picked up the rights to the old Columbia film (before they were bought out by Columbia) several years ago had NOTHING to do with it, I assume? What an egomaniac!

I've honestly lost all respect I ever had for the dude. I liked PULP FICTION and thought the KILL BILL stuff was okay overall (though his "shock" scenes are sophomoric and immature)- now this?? He had his "15 minutes" with PULP and DOGS- time he hung it up.

Good.

He's been putting out smut for some time, anyways.

I don't want him anywhere near something like the Bond franchise.

Tarantino furious at Lumiere Brothers for stealing his idea!

In an interview today, Quentin Tarantino said he was annoyed at the Lumiere Brothers for not acknowledging that cinema was all his idea. "I can up with everything, including those holes along the side of the film. I don't know what they're for but they look kinda cool. I'm pretty pissed off at those French guys for claiming all the credit when if it wasn't for all the publicity I got the whole movie thing, they'd never have been making films to begin with, I can tell you that. They should at least out of courtesy have had coffee and croissants with me, sacrificed their firstborn in worship and bowed before my genius."

Hey, you just know that's coming... :D

Funny how he neglects to mention that he only raised the subject in interviews after EON leaked that CR was going to be the next Bond film.. or that EON paid $10m for the rights in 1999... or that he can't work for MGM/UA or Sony because he refuses to join the DGA...

LOL- good one! What a whiner! He isn't even a member of the DGA? As mentioned above, I don't want to see him EVER direct a Bond film either; I don't want his style imprinted on a Bond movie, his dialogue choices, or anything to do with his type of filmmaking in a Bond picture. It would fail in my opinion.

You mean you don't want to see Casino Royale With Cheese starring John Travolta as Bond, Samuel Jackson as Felix Leiter, David Carradine as Le Chiffre and Uma Thurman's feet as Vesper Lynd? Or to have the James Bond theme replaced with Green Onions? Or for the torture scene to feature a dancing Michael Madsen? Or the film to be released in two parts? :D

Don't forget Steve Buscemi as "Q" ("Why am I "Q"? "Q"'s too close to "queer", man. I'll be "R". "R" is cool, yeah, I'll be "R".") and Harvey Keitel as "M" ("When interrogating the guy, 007, cut off one of his fingers. The little one."). 8)

This is refreshing to read this thread.

I have often slated Q T & my work collegues (a lot younger than me in most cases) have really got irritated at me.

Even when I could break down majority of his movies & tell them where the orginal scene played & in what film.

But I was never listened to. Of course just like Q T who spent a long time in a video store, I worked for a few of the major distributors for a number of years in Europe & have seen my share of movies & latest 'hot things' come & go.

But do have to say this about Q T he has lastest a lot longer than I gave him credit for & he has done well for himself & I never put someone down who has managed to to do that.

So fair play to him & may he keep pulling the wool over the eyes of the public.

But I also have to say a BIG thank you to EON for keeping him well away from the Bond franchise as I am a huge Bond fan (along with many others) & I think he would of ruined the movie.

Bond is class not crass.
