TRANSFORMERS trailer

#1 Post by romanD »

honestly, who wants to see this? and who gave Michael Bay the job and so much money for a silly thing like this...

well, we can only hope it will bomb again and we never see Bay again. Oh great he brought Jablonsky along to score it! Now it's a sure winner! lol

The whole idea of this movie...is bizarre. I had pretty much grown out of action figures by the time TRANSFORMERS became popular (Hasbro's G.I. JOE was the last thing that I played with a little bit -- by that point I was well into the Atari 2600 and Intellivision!), so I find the whole concept of this movie strange. Is there really THAT much of a fan base out there for this movie?

I will say this for Bay: I didn't hate PEARL HARBOR anywhere near as much as ARMAGEDDON and THE ISLAND really wasn't that bad. At least it was watchable. Still would not be my first choice for any project, though, lol :)

Steve Jablonsky does not impress me, and he apparently scored that trailer too from what I read somewhere.

oh my THE ISLAND was godawful in every aspect... and I truly think this is Bay's fault alone (and Jablonsky's... with rocking score like BAD BOYS at least some of the action scenes would have been involving).
Why they are now doing a LOGANS RUN remake is beyond me as it is basically the same story and people will remember how bad ISLAND was and think it is a sequel or remake to that one! :-)

I have no hope for this whatsoever.

I'd be a lot more excited if I could just get an anamorphic Widescreen DVD of the Transformers' cartoon movie from 1987, with loads of extras.

They should stick Mark Wahlberg's performance of "The Touch" from Boogie Nights over the end credits.

Not crap at all. One of the best toy lines and cartoons of all time from the 80's.

so far I think it is about alien roboters who pretend to be cars and when no one watches they beat the crap out of each others... sounds pretty idiotic to me... :-)

but maybe im all wrong.. so tell me the story!

I really don't know either Roman. There are good robots and bad robots, and they all come here for a big brawl. I don't think it's more complicated than that!

My robot love affair was with the SHOGUN WARRIORS when I was a kid -- giant colorful robots from Mattel who preceded the Transformers and eventually landed a TV cartoon (FORCE FIVE as it was retitled) of their own. I had to think Hasbro ripped off the Shoguns when they created the Transformers.
