Just a shame that a project that cries out for a lavish, theme-driven orchestral score will have a wall of Tinnitus-inducing Zimmer/Goransson noise (that drowns out 50% of the dialogue).

Music in the Nolan-verse will always be a bummer but I am pretty stoked for him heading back to sci-fi/fantasy genre fare here. I even liked the Armand Assante version from the end of the TV mini-series heyday and this should be tremendous if it pans out.

The only downside outside the score to the project thus far...

I don't hate Zendaya, but she's incapable of playing any other character than the snarky "too cool for the room" chick in everything.
I mean, better her being cast in everything than Awkwafina, but still...make her go away.

I guess we won't be competing for anyone's attention at the next Hollywood party we attend. I think they're both gorgeous.Monterey Jack wrote: Wed Dec 25, 2024 11:36 pm I don't hate Zendaya, but she's incapable of playing any other character than the snarky "too cool for the room" chick in everything.I mean, better her being cast in everything than Awkwafina, but still...make her go away.
I find Awkwafina particularly fetching...

I have zero problems with the physical attractiveness of both actresses, but they DO have a very limited bag of tricks as performers. Every time I see Awkwafina in a movie (or hear her voice in a cartoon), I know exactly what to expect, every damn time. The Farewell was the only time I've actually seen her vanish into a role.Paul MacLean wrote: Thu Dec 26, 2024 12:09 pm I guess we won't be competing for anyone's attention at the next Hollywood party we attend. That trailer was pretty underwhelming.
This meanwhile brings new meaning to "get in line now"....

People are already scalping opening-day tickets for $250...
Re: Christopher Nolan to adapt Homer's The Odyssey(!)
And the movie will be available on VOD a few weeks after opening (no matter how much Nolan will complain about it.)

Interesting...goes to show how Petersen was on the top of the heap, at least until POSEIDON came out.
