Re: rate the last movie you saw

I'd heard nothing but good things about this movie. But it didn't impress me. The set-up is excellent, and the film introduces a coterie of interesting characters (and character dynamics). This and the first appearance of a vampire really draws you into the story, and promises an impressive second ...

Paramount/Skydance Mulling Warner Bros. Purchase

Just like Fox, the end of yet another studio would be bad for everyone. But it seems to be the direction everything is going.

The world isn't going to function too well with 2 or 3 mega corporations making 90% of filmed entertainment.

Re: Imprint/ViaVision (Australia) Thread: New Announcements

Whatever's going on with the "tariff hysteria" seems to be over in Germany anyway, as I can place a new order from JPC with the same cheap shipping as before. 8)

THE CONJURING - LAST RITES
8/10

https://reactormag.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Conjuring-Last-Rites-3-1536x702.jpg

Surprisingly robust entry in the series is a big improvement over its disposable third installment, which was as nondescript as the franchise's "Annabelle" and "Nun" offshoots ...

Re: THE CONJURING: LAST RITES Blasts to $83 Million Opening

Remember also that 3rd one was a covid affected title that came out on HBO Max on the same day I believe also. Pretty much have to toss that out as a point of comparison.

Definite overperformance but, again, it shows how its turned into a boom or bust marketplace with a single title basically ...

Re: Imprint/ViaVision (Australia) Thread: New Announcements

Arrow cant release it in the U.S. because they dont have the license, Kino Lorber does. That would have to expire first and then they would have to pay for the rights.

Re: Imprint/ViaVision (Australia) Thread: New Announcements

I have to be honest, I don't like it when labels do that. If it's limited, it ought to be limited, because the set's value is a reason that factors, to some degree, into my decision to buy some of these (or not). If they just decide to keep on pressing copies, it absolutely detracts from that value ...

Re: THE CONJURING: LAST RITES Scares Up Decent Reviews

Year's best horror opener and a franchise record:

https://deadline.com/2025/09/box-office-conjuring-the-last-rites-1236508461/

It's a huge number considering how worn-out the franchise is -- but it's also a stat fueled by the fact that the marketplace is dead and there's no other competition. 10 ...

THE TWO JAKES 4K UHD - Andy's Kino Lorber 4K Review

A long-gestating, troubled sequel to “Chinatown” that found writer Robert Towne and producer Robert Evans eventually – and infamously – falling out after numerous, aborted attempts to get it made, “The Two Jakes ...
